Week 7-MBA 6101- Testing out Google Analytics
Using Google Analytics
On June 10, 2022, I created an Ad Campaign within Google to promote What's Going on Chicago? sports podcast. I have monitored the campaigns success over the last week and have also made a few edits to see if that impacts the website traffic.
During the last week, the website has been seen 531 times and has had 19 users click. Since this is a brand-new website, there is no previous data to compare it to. 17 of the clicks were from Illinois where the other 2 were from Indiana.
I also found the keyword search interesting. Most of the searches were related to current news in Chicago, not necessarily Chicago sports related. Users who clicked might have thought that the link was related to news in Chicago and not a sports podcast. After reading attributes of Guerrilla marketing this week, I would recommend to the podcast producer that the name be changed to be more sports focused. This would help from a marketing perspective and wouldn't confuse visitors.
I am going to monitor the campaign for a few more days. I also made some changes to the ad such as phrasing, phrase ordering and added a visual that represented the sports nature of the podcast. I will continue to monitor it and see if that drives additional traffic.
