Creating an Ad Campaign
Through my MBA 6101 Digital Branding and Marketing course, I have been tasked to market a company, non-profit business or something along those lines. I decided to market a friend of mines sports podcast, What's Going on Chicago. This has been a passion project of his for years so I am curious to see if marketing it appropriately will increase his listening base. Along with creating him a website and getting a domain solidified, I wanted to run a Google Ad Campaign to monitor an increase in traffic.
This was my first time every creating an ad campaign through Google and the platform does a good job at walking the user through it. The steps were easy to follow and there was support available if I needed clarification on something. My goal is to increase traffic by 20%, since it is the Chicago Bears off season and the NFL is not on most people's minds right now. I think 20% is a conservative goal that is attainable. I will run the ad campaign for 10 days and monitor the progress along the way. Google has an interactive dashboard where users are able to pinpoint certain key performance indicators to see the progress of their ad campaign.
