As the internet started to grow in the 21st century, search engines were heavily utilized to search for subject matter. Google is now one of the largest companies in the world, bringing in $256 billion in 2021, mostly through advertising. Google is also utilized 3.8 million times in a minute. While Google is the leading search engine, Bing, Yahoo!, DuckDuckGo and AOL are also popular ones. With most customers using one of these platforms for searching, businesses have taken search engine optimization in consideration as a form of digital marketing.
Search engine optimization (SEO) is the process of improving the quality and quantity of website traffic to a web page. This means, how is a company able to use a search engine to improve the number of customers and the quality of customers who are more likely to buy the product. When it comes to SEO, there are multiple factors that are taken into consideration, one of them is the search engine algorithm and that can be challenging to understand. Some of the ranking factors for SEO are website accessibility, user experience, optimized content, and page speed.
There are a multitude of agencies and consulting firms that will work with businesses to help with search engine optimization. They will utilize links, keywords, and domains to make sure that the businesses are higher on the search rankings. Adwords are also used in search engine optimization strategies to increase customer traffic.
